The National Fantasy Museum: Opening

The National Fantasy Museum, Richmond, VA

A permanent gathering place for wonder — a museum dedicated to the objects, stories, and creatures that exist just beyond the edge of the known world. A space built for those who believe the world is stranger and more beautiful than we allow ourselves to see.

Lauren Lael

Lauren Lael

Lauren Lael is a Protestant Christian who believes in Faith Alone in Christ's atoning work as the sole basis for entry into heaven — not by doing good things, not by good works, not by merit of any kind, but entirely and only on the basis of His Sacrifice. It is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone. From that foundation, God works in and through her. Anything good you see in Lauren's life or work is God moving through her, not herself. She holds no credit for it.

Lauren Lael is a national and international award-winning artist. She's the Founder of The National Fantasy Museum in Richmond, VA. She has worked for HBOMax, AMC, and Shudder, and is currently at the Emmy-winning Flatland Creative, where she crafts compelling visuals and produces music in advertising and entertainment.

As a Director and Show-Runner, Lauren is beginning production on her animated films Texas and Slice, and her animated pilot Aleister — a 7-seasons long dark fantasy series mixing George Orwell's 1984, bringing awareness to human-trafficking issues, and Christian persecution around the world. Her music has been featured in The Auricular Magazine and Dust-Up Magazine (2017).

She has worked alongside RVAHope in Richmond, VA — assisting women in human-trafficking situations by providing food, hygiene, and shelter resources, as well as sharing The Gospel of Jesus Christ, all in an effort to start the rehabilitation process and get them off the streets. She also serves on the Young Adult Board of CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates for Children).

In her free time, she loves to make marbles and weld — working on dirt bikes and metal sculptures.
